Project 1 - collages

I like these collages because of the way the artist uses the different shades from multiple photo sources and creates one overall image. Though I dont like the concept behind it and the use of pornographic materials.
I also enjoy the simplistic quality to them, with the solid color backgrounds and the single subject.

This collage, I like, because of the subject matter with the fish and the coral reefs around the woman. I also like the use of other mediums, in this case tempura, with the collaged materials.

All of these examples of Rauschenberg's collages are absolutely wonderful to me, I love the use of so many images that work together in color. It is also amazing the amount of images he used, it is difficult to take in all the details and it seems that there is always something new you can find, no matter how long you look. I am particularly fond of the second collage listed, I like the use of the blue and brown together. It creates a feeling of grungyness that works well with what seems to be the topic of war.

Though I am not so fond of the collage itself, though it does have many great qualities, I like this one because of all the symbolism and ideas found through out. It raises questions and makes a strong statement about something that has plagued humanity.

I love these collages and I chose to include them because of color choice as well. They are so soft and the little details are so subtle that you dont quite see them at first until you focus in a little more.
